I like to discover things about animals and sea creatures. The Jersey Shore has so many places you can discover nature - in and beside the water and on land, too. If you like nature and the beach and want to learn, you can read about my jersey shore discoveries and some fun facts about crabs, turtles, starfish, clams and fish at the shore.

Try Parasailing at the Jersey Shore:

If you like boating and enjoy the fresh sea air, why not try parasailing? Recently I went parasailing with my mom with Sea Isle Parasailing out of - you guessed -Sea Isle City.

Captain Rob and his crew mate were great and really kept things fun for us. We left Sunset Dock at 86th and the Bay at 11 am (they typically have 4 trips per day). It was an hour and half hour boat ride in the Bay and ocean around Sea Isle City. Captain Rob played great music and was very entertaining.

I must say, I thought I'd be scared but it was not scary at all. Mom and I enjoyed the quiet of just the two of us up there floating over the beaches of Sea Isle and saw a lot of Sting Ray families in the water below.

This is something you definitely want to put on your "TO DO" list when visiting the Jersey Shore. Each shore town has a few water activity vendors. Check the ShoreBreeze.com Jersey Shore Business Listings for businesses who can help you have fun in your favorite town.

Enjoy Surfing on the Beautiful Jersey Shore Beaches:

Hey kids.  Do you want to learn to surf the wonderful Atlantic Ocean waves here at the Jersey Shore?  Or maybe you just want to improve your surfing skills.  I took surf lessons last year for just one week and then practiced on my own to improve my skills.  You just need to learn the basics then you are on your way to becoming an expert surfer. Of course, the more you practice, the better you will become.

• Marine Mammal Stranding Center - a private, non-profit organization based in Brigantine, NJ. They have tours and camps to learn about sea life at the Jersey Shore. You can see seals, turtles and they also have camps. (609) 266-0538.
• Morey's Pier - located on the Wildwood Boardwalk, More's Pier offers Morey's Piers offers over 100 exciting amusement park rides and attractions, including TWO large beachfront waterparks, kiddie rides, roller coasters and more! Call (609) 522-5900 for admission prices and information.
• The Nature Center of Cape May - offers family programs and field trips and trolley tours, harbor safaris, tidal marsh tours, cyclling tours, marine life cruises, backyard wildlife programs and science programs. For information call (609) 898-8848.
• Playland's Castaway Cove - located at 1020 Boardwalk, Ocean City, NJ. Ride the "Double Shot," "Sea Serpent," and "Glider" just to name a few of the fun rides. Call (609) 399-4751 for more information.
• The Pinelands Preservation Alliance - offers educational educational programs to high school stuends and teachers on better understanding of the history, ecology, and public policy issues involving the million-acre New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve and to make available to participating teachers exemplary curricula and teaching resources about the Pinelands for use in their classrooms.
